Gravity and Grace

This 7 meters height monument was designed for the Aichi Triennale 2016 in the Toyohashi Art Theater.
Our initial idea was a vase shape made of 3 mm steel layer with the addition of delicate patterns of flower lace. In order to have stability, we selected vierendeel frame system with flat bars with 3 mm x 50 mm.
Combining the use of flat frames and steel plates we could get horizontal stability to keep the vase shape.
